Yesterday, the licensing period for massage therapists ended. And I just came off a two day marathon class session. We had Reiki 1 on Tuesday, and Reiki 2 yesterday (Wednesday). It was fun.

One of my students came from referral of a friend. She was looking for last minute CEUs (Continuing Education Credits). Another student had been signed up for a class in hospice massage. Since she has osteoporosis, they decided (at the last minute) that she was too much of a risk to have in their class. So with less than a week left, she was looking for classes. Another of the students was signed up for a different class that was cancelled because of the hurricane headed this way. The hurricane turned, but the class was still cancelled (with only days left to the licensing period).

This class started with one student for Reiki 1 as I needed two students to do Reiki 2. She signed up for the first class and was looking elsewhere for another six hours. A second student called and asked to get into the first class, and asked about the second. After a couple phone calls, I had enough students to hold both classes. With both classes out on the web and available, I picked up one more. Then I got a call the morning of the first class from a friend. She wanted to know if she could get into the two classes and pay me at the door. I told her yes, and that gave me a total of four for the two classes.

It was funny. Two of the students were both named Kelly. In fact, the first two to sign up had that name. If it had been just them, it would have been easy remembering names.

Even funnier, the names were spelled differently. One was Kelly with a Y. The other was Kellie with an IE. So as the first day went, I would address one as Y and one as IE? By the time we were part way through the second day it turned into Y and Y-not.

To do both of these classes, I had to miss the mediumship class that happens the last Wednesday of each month. I let them use the front room while I taught in the back. When the mediumship class was over, Heather and her husband came back. Since Heather is a Reiki master, she took part in the group sessions. Both she and her husband got to get on the table and receive. This gave the students more practice time.

It was a fun class with great people.
