In the April 25th posting, I talked about how as healers, we tend to do whatever we can to heal others, but forget about the most basic things of energy healing when it comes to taking care of ourselves. I know that if I say, bash my knee into something, the first thing I usually think of is not Reiki. It is more usually OUCH, along with a few choice expletives. Then I might sit down, or do traditional homeopathic healing. Then, maybe when my head is clear, I might think of Reiki. Well, duh. Isn't it amazing how if we see someone else hurting, we immediately, out of reflex, go to Reiki or some combination of energy modalities? But if it is us hurting that we generally don't think to use the God-given talents that we have learned.

After putting this posting out on ReikiAloha, I got a lot of good responses from other practitioners that realized they do the very same thing. We are always the last people that we take care of. But past that, there is a better story from David Isaiah Hedelman. Here is what he posted yesterday...

In the past, I have been very sensitive to bee stings. I have experienced much swelling and pain, nausea, fever. I knew that I was allergic. I have had to take antihistamines. I never had to go to hospital, but each sting, over the years had gotten worse.

Saturday morning, as I was preparing for the work shop, I was stung by a bee. My first response was panic. I went to the cupboard looking for Benedryl, or at least baking soda to make a poultice. I was hurting and my finger was swelling. All of a sudden, I heard a small voice in my head, "Duh, use Reiki!" I stopped...breathed, intoned the symbols and drew them in the air and held my finger for about five minutes. First the throbbing went away, then the heat started to subside, then the pain left. I looked at my finger and there was no swelling, I could bend my finger, (I was stung right at the first joint above the knuckle on my right middle finger,)

I was so happy and relieved. At first, I thought I was amazed, then realized that I was really affirmed.

I shared this at the training and people were blown away! My wife who knows how I respond to bee stings was grateful and thankful that I remembered to use Reiki.

Brian, your reminder for us to heal ourselves, helped me recall that I could do that! Thanks Bro!

Love and light to all

Worked on a cancer patient today at Reiki Share/Circle. She was very calmed. Also did much work on a thyroid gland. Was swollen on Saturday, treated on Saturday and the swelling subsided. Did more work today and could feel the thyroid palpitate and move. The woman who was connected to this gland says she can feel the energy moving thought it an is greatly relieved.

The one man who came to training yesterday for Reiki I and was so skeptical at first came to the share and is feeling heat in his hands and an increase in what he has felt as healing energy prior to his attunement....

Reiki is so wonderful...gratitude again for this place on its anniversary!

I was pleased to hear that David was ok, and that my post had helped in some small way toward his healing.

** David, Thanks for letting me include this in my journal. Love and light.
