So, now that I have decided to not to make comments on how much time lapses between posts, they seem to be coming fast and furious. I know, feast or famine. I did massage on a friend’s back today, remotely.

I have a friend whose back was hurting. Normally, she gets these problems, and then has her husband lift her in a certain way that pops her back (that is if she can’t pop it herself). This was one time when she just could not get it to go, even with his help. She was waiting for her husband to get done what he was working on so he could spend a few minutes working on her back. (She figured he could do some massage, and then he should use some of the (Reiki 1) training he was given a year or more ago.)

We were talking over Instant Messenger (IM), and she was telling me how much she needed bodywork as she was in a lot of pain. I thought about it for a second, and after the success last Friday with Beverly’s TMJ, I asked her to tell me where the problem was. (Basically, I was very tired and didn’t want to call up the energy needed to go do a scan.) She told me her neck hurt, down through her back to about midway. Basically, she said that at the point she can touch her elbows together behind her is as low as it went. I realized it was in the cervical and thoracic areas of the spine. (Personally, I was amazed that she could touch her elbows behind herself. It sure isn’t anything I’ve ever been able to do.)

I reached out and started kneading her neck with the energy. I’ll never know how these things come about (or I probably will), but I was seeing massage moves that are done around the spine. I started moving the energy in the directions these moves would usually work my fingers. I stretched the back up and down on each side of the spine, and moved it out away form the spine.

I stopped, and asked her how it was.  She told me it was pretty good. I had gotten her neck, and at least now the pain was bearable. I then went for round two, and worked a little lower toward the center of the back. Again, it was strictly massage moves, nothing that I would have otherwise termed ‘energy healing’.

Normally, I see energy healing as energy working at various areas, surrounding, and covering any problems, cleaning away bad energy. This was just an extension of my fingers, almost literally. Now I don’t know if she felt the energy like fingers or not. The funny thing is that I know energy is actually a physical force. This is something that I hard to remember, but it is. When you think of something in your mind, and make it happen, you don’t consider it physical, that is unless your gift is telekinesis. I have never been able to create energy hard enough that it could move physical objects, so the fact that I was doing massage moves totally floored me. My friend tells me that I shouldn’t be surprised. Don’t know. I was relating the TMJ story to another friend when she told me that I shouldn’t be surprised over anything I do because I’m real good. As I keep saying, I have gifts that I am allowed to use. Sometimes, I’m not allowed to use them and I fall flat on my (metaphysical) face.

At any rate, when I stopped working this time, she told me that her back was popping, and that it felt good. I asked if I had gotten it all, and she told me that she still had some pain a little lower, but that was ok. I told her I was not usually one to leave unless I couldn’t finish what I was doing, so I reached out one more time. I did some more massage moves for a few minutes, and then asked how she was. She told me her pain and tightness was all gone.

She asked then if she could still get her husband to do some massage on her (as his touch felt good). I told her she could have him do whatever she wants.
