Today is a day of remembrance, remembrance and prayer to whatever deities you believe in. It is also a day for thankfulness and forgiveness.

I remember a year ago today, how I heard of a plane hitting the World Trade Center. I remember staring at the TV minutes, and hours, and days, seeing but still not believing what had happened. I remember seeing the pain and horror in people's faces, and feeling their emotion. I remember the tears that came for days afterward, and now threaten to break free as I see all the ceremonies of remembrance from around the world.

We are sad for those that passed on. They are ok now. They were ok moments after the tragedy happened. We are sadder still for those that are left behind with only the memories of loved ones to stay with them.

We are thankful for our recovery, the country's recovery, the world's recovery. A lot has happened in the last year, some good, some bad. But we are still thankful that we can move forward, and try to better things, make the world a better place to live.

Now, as we remember what happened, we must now forgive. It is hard. And it can be very hard. We must forgive, in order to keep our own souls clean. Hatred and anger build up. They crowd out everything else. We must be rid of that, to be pure of spirit, to be of the light. To do that, we must forgive everyone that has ever wronged us, including those that plotted and carried out the deeds of this tragedy. So, here are my thoughts...

I ask that we send love to those that perished as targets of terrorist attacks, for they are truly the innocent victims.

I ask that we send love to those that perished giving their lives trying to save others, for their unselfish courage inspires us all.

I ask that we send love to those that fought back against terrorism, knowing they would probably not survive, for they showed that a few people can make a difference.

I ask that we send love to those that lost loved ones, for their pain will be the hardest to bear.

I ask that you send love to the terrorists that acted to cause this tragedy, for they are victims of a belief system that twists things around and allows them to believe that by doing evil, they are really doing good.

I ask you to send love to the people that thought up and planned these events, for they are also victims of their upbringing, planting the seeds to their self-delusion.

And finally, I ask you to send love to all of us, the survivors of these events, for it is through us, and the love that we send to others that one day, we will all be united, not as Americans, but as humans, humans of the world. When that day comes, and all the people of the planet unite in love, then we will no longer be persons, and entities, and counties. We will truly be the human race.

Keep this thought in your mind. Pass it on. One day, we will make it happen.

I leave you in love, and with some words written by a dear friend in Ireland whose eloquence far out shadows mine...

All over the world today, people are remembering the tragedy and horror of this day last year. I have no words fitting to describe the spirit encircling the world today, but I want to do my small part to add to it, by sharing what is in my heart as I watch the memorials. I grieve for all those who died. I applaud the selfless courage of those who sacrificed their lives to help their fellowmen. I offer my support and love to those who lost parents, children, siblings, spouses and friends.

Shared suffering brings people together as little else can. I pray that as we share the pain of all those affected by the 9/11 attacks, we draw closer as a human family. I pray that from those three thousand deaths, we can begin to build something worth dying for.

Teresa

May love and light be with you all, now and forever.
