A few weeks ago, I wrote everyone I could to let them know that my teacher and Reiki master, Kay Mora had been taken to the hospital and to ask them to send energy and pray. Through those weeks there has been good news and there has been bad news. During this time, she had been in pain, and the doctors had been keeping her sedated. At the beginning of last week, she was flown to Shands hospital in Gainesville where they had better facilities to treat her. On Thursday, they ran a lot of tests, which told them that her kidneys and liver were not functioning. On Friday morning, her daughters Debbie and Kathy made the decision to disconnect the respirator. Kay made her final passage from this side to the other between 3:00 and 5:00 yesterday afternoon (February 21st).
Those of us that had been sending her energy, and had been close, felt that she had been out of her body for some time. In fact we feel that her soul has been on the other side for the past two weeks. We just all expected her to come back for a while to teach us new things. But she decided to stay on the other side where she is happy and free of pain. Of course, there are those of us that would argue that Kay was usually mostly on the other side with just enough of her here to carry on with her life.
Over 40 years ago, Kay Mora was in an automobile accident and ended up in the hospital. While there, she had a very bad pain and left her body. Because she had an earthly thought, she hung around instead of completely going over. Eventually she did go over to be healed and taught a lot of things by the angels (or spirits). She then came back into her body, but with one major change, she was now psychic.
Since that time, she has used her gifts to learn more, and to pass on what she learned to anyone that wanted to study with her. She taught everything from meditation to channeling, from color healing to magnetic healing to crystals to Therapeutic Touch to Reiki. She did lots of psychic readings, helped police locate missing people, and dehaunted houses. She fought a battle and made it legal for psychics to work within the township of St. Augustine, FL.
For those of us that were close to her knew her as a teacher, a healer, and a friend. Of those of us that had been studying with her over the past many years, we know how much we’ve grown not only in abilities, but of understanding, and caring. She literally opened up many worlds before our eyes, and told us how to move from place to place, backwards and forwards in time, through past and future lives, and from this side to the next and back.
Monday, her family is taking her back to Maine to be laid to rest. Although her body may rest, I think we all know that Kay never will. She has already been popping in on several of us, letting us know she is ok. We all miss her, and will continue to do so. Death is never a problem for those leaving. It is the rest of us that are left behind that need to cope.
I ask at this time that you direct a thought and a prayer (and maybe some healing energy) to her family. They are hurting right now, as are all of us, but more so.
The one thing those of us that were her students know, is that Kay taught us well. I just can’t get over the feeling that she has more to teach us. The thing is that this time, she intends us to work for it.
