As I probably said many times through these journal entries, I learned my first massage moves from my friend Carolyn when we were both living in Maryland. She taught me the basics of massage while I taught her the basics of energy work. Carolyn was at that time a student at the Baltimore School of Massage. From there, she went on to get her state license.

When she moved to Maine, she got her license there. Then she fell away from it for a while. Some time after, she moved to Seattle, Washington (the farthest corner of the country from me). She is currently attending Bastyr College where she will one day graduate as a doctor (I think of some type of new age healing).

In the last few months, she has taken up massage again, and took the test to get her state license. I think that my studying for my license had something to do with getting her motivated. We have actually been long distance study partners. She answered muscle questions, and I gave her help on the meridian clock.

She called a couple days ago while we were driving home from Ohio. She told me that she had just taken, and passed her national boards. Like me, she is now nationally certified. Unlike me she got high marks in all four categories where I got high in three and low in one. But then again, this is stuff she is studying in her regular classes.

At any rate,

Congratulations Carolyn!!! It was well worth the journey.
