Now that the studio is finally open full time, I have actually been doing some massages, and it’s great.

Doing outcall massage hasn’t been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. But now with people coming to the studio, it’s actually wonderful. People have been noticing my ad in the newspaper and calling to talk or to schedule appointments. A couple Saturdays ago, I had someone that I see quarterly, and got another scheduled based on her seeing my ad. This person has become a regular client.

Last week, I had sent out e-mail notifications of my open house. One of the recipients had shown it to someone she works with. The comment from her coworker was something like “wow, I pay at least $28 more for a massage.” So, she came in and is coming back next month. The night I worked on her, I got a call from someone that was at one of the hotels at the airport. He actually came out for a massage. That was neat.

What I‘m finding is that I am really enjoying the doing the massage and Reiki sessions I have been doing. With the massage, I have really been getting into the session. Most of the time, my eyes are closed looking for indicators showing me where to work, which direction to rub in. But, I’ve not felt bored, or rushed. I’ve just felt like I was where I needed to be. That is a cool thing.

The week before last, I had three clients. Last week I had four. Here’s hoping that this number continues to grow. My goal is 20 people a week. I know that I’m not up to that yet physically. But the more I do, the longer I’ll be able to go. (I do remember that day at school when I did six massages in a row. I was getting a little lost by the last one, as far as routine goes, but I was not hurting or tired.) The same is true now. I’m not walking away tired. Everything seems to be working right, including my sight scanning which has been right on.

I think my clients are feeling the depth of which I’m working as well. I’ve had several fall asleep while I was working on them. This is a great compliment. For someone to be so comfortable with me, and the studio, and what I’m doing to be able to fall asleep, well that’s just a neat thing.

The one person that came from the airport made the best comment of any I’ve had. When I told him it was time to turn over, I asked him how he was doing. His comment was “gawd, incredible!”

Very cool!
