I had a person walk in off the street today looking for a massage. I got to use a lot of the new toys.

A man walked in complaining of a still back and neck. He was down here on vacation, and needed help. He told me that his daughters would walk on his back and neck (shuddering) to straighten out these problems when they were home. His daughters are 12 and 15. Wow.

He wanted only a half hour session and work done strictly on his back and neck. With little time to work on him, and major problems, I went straight into the Lomi Lomi massage techniques that I had learned just a couple days ago.

By the time I was done, he was feeling pretty loose, and happy. And the beauty of it all was that it didn’t take nearly as much effort as it would have if I had done a normal deep Swedish. Lomi moves use the forearm and elbows rather than the hands and fingers. Also, rather than needing to have a lot of upper body strength, one just uses their body weight to get the necessary pressure. Cool, huh?
