I taught my first Reiki 3 class for CEUs today. It went quite well.

I had two massage therapists and two non massage therapists as students. The class went very well, and everyone seemed to pick up the information.

Reiki 3 is something that I don’t teach that often. A lot of people will take Reiki 1. Some will decide that it is not for them. Others will wait for a long time, and then take Reiki 2. But not a lot of students follow on to Reiki 3. I think part of that is because some of them don’t want to teach. They just want to heal themselves and others (near and far). Many just don’t want the title, they want the ability. (This is better than those that just want the title to say they have a title.)

When one graduates Reiki 3, they have a title and a certificate that pronounces them a master and a teacher. The question of what they do, and how soon they do it is based on their confidence. Having a title, and working at that level may be two different things. It was a many months before I decided I was comfortable with the title. When I taught my first student, I knew I had to be comfortable with the title to sign my name on a certificate.

I think that the four people I taught today will do well with what they have learned. I know one has a couple people that want to learn, so he will be teaching before the year is out. One other has someone that has been asking her to teach for a while now. She doesn’t want anyone else to teach her. As this student left, she told me that she still feels unready to teach, and that she may still send students to me. I think when she feels ready, she will be very good.

At the end, we did a closing circle, something that we used to do at the end of Kay’s classes. The energies that we sent out for healing were powerful indeed. It was a very good class.
