I taught a Reiki 1 class today with three students, and one helper.

My students were an interesting mix of people. One lady is a shaman, and has been drawn to this type of healing. One lady has a lot of health problems and is taking Reiki so she can work on healing herself. The final lady is taking the class so that she will have an understanding of it when her mother comes over here from the Ukraine. Her mother wants to take the class and doesn't speak any English. She is going to act as a translator.

Since I had an odd number of people, I spent some time looking for helper. I had hoped to find one of my students that had already had this class and would be able to not only be a body, but to be able to give as well as receive. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find anybody available. In asking a couple other people who have had this work done, or been a body for me previously, I couldn't find any of them available either. What I ended up doing was asking my 14 year old client who suffers from migraines to come be a body for the class. This worked out well as she got Reiki healing, and my student got somebody to work on.

Although the class started late, and ran long, it was a fun and interesting class. A lot of good discussions sprang up and a lot of good questions were asked. All in all, it was a fun class, and everyone did very well.
