I had a call form one of the students that was in my last class. She had felt that she really didn’t learn anything, and that she didn’t “have it”. But then she went to use Reiki on someone in need, and magic happened.

In the last class, there was one student that kept asking questions, and had different viewpoints on things. She had been taught to do some things differently from what I was teaching. A good example would be the centering exercise. When I teach someone to center, the idea is to take all the stray thoughts one is having, and combine them in one’s center so that one I focused on one thought… what they are doing at the moment. My student was taught to push these stray thought far away so she could concentrate on one thing. Two totally different methods for performing the same function.

At any rate, because of things like this, she felt like she did not really ‘get it’. Then, one day at work, he boss was having problems with his heart racing and his blood pressure climbing. He had taken all the medications he had, and done all the exercises he could, but could not get it to stop (not stop as in dead stop, but stop as in slow down).

My student offered Reiki, even though she did not have a tremendous amount of faith in it. She simply asked her creator to help her boss. She worked on him for about 25 minutes, during which time he kept taking his blood pressure every 5 minutes. When he did, they saw that his blood pressure was going down, and that his heart was slowing.

When she stopped, and he was doing fine, she was totally surprised that it had worked, and worked so well. It sure did change her opinion of her abilities and what Reiki could do.

Neat. I like stories like this. It gives one a sense that they are doing the right thing.
