Well, so much for getting a huge influx of people because of the Super Bowl. Yesterday I spent my entire day dictating journal entries, and today looks like I'll be doing the same thing.
I know everybody's been thinking that the crowds coming into town for the Super Bowl will generate a lot of business for the city not just downtown, but all over. Supposedly, all the hotels are booked up including the ones out here at the beach, and it's expected that those people will be looking for all types of services. In fact it's been suspected that all services will be maxed out during this entire week. Well, that hasn't quite happened yet. The locals are not going out anywhere. They seem to be waiting until the game is over and the crowds leave. Judging by the traffic last weekend, I can understand why.
I've been hoping that I will be getting calls for massage quite a lot over the next few days and the last few days. It seems however, that most of the people are coming into town today or tomorrow although I was hoping they would have come in earlier. I guess I'll just have to see if I get many calls tonight. I've decided that I'm not doing any out calls as I would have to double my price to make it worthwhile. I also have a lot of packing to do as I'm leaving for Sedona first thing Friday morning.
As my schedule is set right now, I have one body listed, and that will be tomorrow at 430, which will be my last massage for the day. If I get any calls for work after that I'll just have to refuse them. I expect to be packing most of the night. It will be interesting though, as my office line transfers to my cell phone which I will have on me as I travel to, and am in Sedona. I'll have to remember to change the recording tomorrow evening.
My friend who runs the massage studio up the street had told me that January is a slow month, and that she has not been doing much business either. I don't know how much she expects to pick up because of the Super Bowl, if any. I wish her luck. I was hoping to get some additional business because of it, but it does look like it's going to happen.
So, I guess I will just set my time to planning for my trip, and the health show at the mall on the 25th. Sounds like a plan.
