I did two massages today which is unusual for Saturday.

The first person I worked on, had found me through the Internet and my web site. She had very good comments and be web site itself, which dealt specifically with a massage side of the site. She was impressed that I bothered to put my education on there, as she said that many therapist's sites don't bother the list education at all. She thought my site was very pleasant and very inviting.

When I talked her on the phone she explained to me that she was looking for massage, but had never been worked on by a male therapist before. So, we talked for about 10 or 15 minutes during which time I explained how I perform a massage, and how concerned I am with the client's comfort. One of those things I impressed on her was that either a person is a professional, or they are not. In my business, I try to be a professional about everything I do. I think it is one of the things that makes me stand out from many of the other people in this business. I take it so far that I write confirmation letters to people who send in deposits for classes, and thank you letters to people who have just taken classes. It's one of the things I do, because I feel it's necessary for business, at least if you approach your business as a professional.

After talking for a few minutes, she felt comfortable enough to make an appointment and come in and see me. I worked on her this morning for a little over an hour, after which she was feeling quite a lot better than when she came in. She liked the work so much, and machine made another appointment. I guess what I did was well within her comfort level. Even though a male therapist was something new to her, the point came down to being the question of whether it was a good massage or not. This is what the question should always come down to. If the massage was good, then it's something one should come back for. If it wasn't, then obviously it's time to find another therapist.

My second client was a gentleman that works construction in the area, at least through this coming August. He found me through the Yellow Pages. I was actually out at a store when he called, and the earliest I could get to him was an hour from the time we were talking.

I managed to get to the shop five minutes before he did so things would be set up. We talked for a few minutes after he came in and then I worked on him. He also enjoyed the work, and promised to be back even though he did not make an appointment at that moment.

So, for what could have been a dead Saturday, I did some nice work.
