January 30, 2005 (Part 1)

I taught Reiki 1 today to a new student and it was quite interesting how things went.

My student used to be an executive in New York City until she started getting sick. She basically let go of everything she had let spirit guide her down to Florida. (It's an incredible feeling to put your entire faith in spirit to guide you to where you need to be. One of these days I ought to try that.) Shortly after settling in the western side of Jacksonville, someone took her to Cassadaga, a town of psychics a little bit south and west of here. A friend of mine had taken me there years ago when she wanted to have a reading done. I found the place interesting, but got the feeling they didn't want me there. I spent the entire day under shields as the energies kept telling me I wasn't wanted. My student ended up getting a reading, and because of but it at the end and the energies coming out of her the reader told her, that she should be taking Reiki.

Her next step was to get on the Internet and search for Reiki and Jacksonville. As has been happening for many years now, my site came up, and she called and talked to me. After talking for a bit, we selected a class date which was today.

Upon actually meeting my student, I was impressed with the energies that were coming out of her. It didn't take much effort to get her to be working with Reiki energies. Some of her other training however, worked differently as far as steps and positions, so there was a little bit of a challenge learning the new material.

Since I only have one student, I asked one of my clients to come in and be a body. This was the lady I did a chakra balancing on a week earlier. She never had had Reiki, and never really heard of it until she had met me. She had however, studied yoga (and is now a yoga instructor), and through that learned about chakras and so forth. She liked the Reiki energy, and told me my student had done very, very well. She told me that the next time I needed a body to call her.

It was a nice day and lots of fun. I always enjoy teaching, and when students learn the material well, it is just a sign that I'm doing what I should be doing.
