Well, I finally did it. I decided that I needed room in my filing cabinet, so I started pulling out files of those that I had not seen in a year.

This was a scary thing. Most people that come into my studio, come once. No one complains about the massage or energy work I do. In fact, everyone tells me it was excellent. I think it’s just that most people don’t get massages that often, and only go when they are in bad shape. So, in a way, it would make sense that they wouldn’t be a regular recurring client.

So, I went through the files, and pulled out 84 files. That’s a huge number. But then again, I’ve been measuring how many new people I get (along with the advertising source that brought them in). Last year, I had 76 new clients come in the door. This year, so far, I have had 64. that is actually a pretty good comparison as last year was a measurement of 10 months, while this year is one of six. So, I should easily surpass last year’s number.

The thing is that by pulling 84 out of the files because they are inactive, I have effectively removed a year’s list of new clients. Scary huh? The trick has always been to draw in new people, and get them to keep coming back. I’m still working on that.

There are still 153 files left in the cabinet. I know some of them will be marked inactive as time moves ahead. I guess I need to be drawing more in so I can stay ahead. Hmmm, ahead. Now that sounds like a good place to be.
