Well, the first tropical storm of the season is headed up the Gulf toward Florida. Already Mother Nature is starting take potshots at us. At the same time, I took my first shot at moving a storm this season.

My goal was simple... keep the storm away from Florida. I gathered in energies, extended them to the edge of the storm and created a wall which I used to push at the storm. I was feeling pretty strong and pretty confident as I was maintaining that wall and pushing the storm. Then I guess it dawned on me as to what I was doing. I suddenly felt very, very small compared to this very, very huge storm. I could feel the storm pushing at my wall and pushing it back toward me.

Thankfully, I realized what was happening. I started drawing in energy from any place that I could, mostly the air. I kept drawing in energy until I felt big and strong and then leveled that energy back at the storm. I started to feel a give way against the strength I had built up against it. I then gave it one big shove and let it go.

Not too much later, I heard on the news that the storm had taken a turn to the west, and moved away from Florida. It did hit land along the northern Gulf Coast, but never did reach the hurricane level that forecasters were afraid it would.

So, for my first attempt this hurricane season, I found out I was able to move a storm, to nudge it in a different direction. Of course, this was a tropical storm, not a full-blown hurricane. I'm sure there will be more down the pike, and I hope I can gather the people with the strength to steer the storms away from land.
