As I mentioned before, I seem to be back in the middle of the fight between Reiki and massage. It seems things have changed, yet remain the same.

When I went before the Board of Massage two years ago, I thought that the outcome was that their opinion had changed. In fact, I think I remember that one of the people that works for the Board told me that they had changed their opinion about Reiki being massage, yet still considered it massage related.

What is going on now is that they tell me that Reiki is massage and that the Board made a special case out of me to allow me to be a provider for massage although I do not have the years experience required to teach a massage subject (gee, I’m special). I talked with the lady that was so helpful two years ago, and that is what she told me. I think I remember it differently, but then she sees many cases each year, where I was only interested in one.

I know that I wrote my journal entries very shortly after the Board meeting two years ago. I have to trust that my fresh impressions were correct. The person in Gainesville that is part of the coalition has requested the transcripts of the meeting. When he gets them, I will get a copy. I’m looking to see if it implies that the opinion of the Board had changed as I thought it did. I’m thinking this will prove my memory of the situation to be true.

As I help these people in the coalition (which helps my students as well), I am trying to keep a very low profile. Don’t want repercussions coming my way. So, at the moment, I am sending white light to the situation, and ask you all to do the same. Let’s hope this can be straightened out.

Take care all.
