I taught Reiki 1 today with three students. After that, I did a Reiki session on someone. Talk about being in the right frame of mind.

I had three students and one helper in for Reiki 1 today. Two of the students were massage therapists who work for a local day spa. They were very pleased with the training and picked it up very well. One mentioned that the spa is wanting to offer Reiki, which means that they will need someone to come in and do training. Hmmm, sounds like a sales call is in order.

My other student was a friend of another student that just took his master’s. He was very tall, and I had to take down a hanging plant so he could walk around the table without hitting his head. (With the new room configuration, I can have two tables sitting out away from the wall. This put his path around the table on a collision course with the plant.)

All of the students did very well, and seemed to enjoy it.

After class, I had a client who was having back problems, yet he wanted Reiki. It seems that he had been told about the power of Reiki and felt that this could cure him. He had a back problem that was caused by something he does. When he sleeps, the problem occurs. It could be that he is sleeping in bad positions, but obviously can’t change that.

I worked on him for most of an hour. When I was done, and he still had some pain, I did a couple minutes of Lomi Lomi on him. When he left, he was feeling pretty good. The problem I worry about is that if he continues to sleep the way he is, the problem will not go away. This is the case with all repetitive motion injuries. I can only hope that something changes.
