Ok, somewhere there has to be a subliminal message to things of late. I’m starting to think that maybe it is Breast Cancer Awareness month... or should be.
I had an older lady come in today for massage. Her doctor suggested that it would be good for her Fibromyalgia. She had been diagnosed with it not too long ago. She was relieved to now have a name for the problems she was having. (The problem I have with this is that Fibromyalgia is something that doctors know nothing about. They don’t know what causes it. They don’t know what cures it. But a patient feels better having a name of a problem other then “I have something where I hurt all the time.” This is probably why there are diseases like ‘chronic pain syndrome’ which is equivalent to “I don’t know what it is, but they hurt all the time so let’s label it.”) Enough ranting.
The point that was so interesting is that this lady had also had a double mastectomy. Hers was a few years back, and as she put it, was just one in a series of things wrong with her.
But think about it. I worked on someone that had had a mastectomy years ago at a psychic fair. That was before I was even licensed. But suddenly to get three clients within a week, well, the universe has to be trying to say something. I just wish I knew what I was being told.
