April 1, 2007

Strangely enough, it was a slow month last month, yet the best month on record.

Session-wise, March was a very slow month, with the exception of the last week when I worked on nine people. At the same time, I did 24 massage sessions and six Reiki sessions.

But the key to the month was the Reiki classes. I taught Reiki 1 to five people, and Reiki 2 to four of those five. That same four people signed up for Reiki 3 which will take place at the end of April. The neat thing is that most of them paid for it in full right then, so the income is recorded in March.

On the whole, the company brought in $3,100, $1,300 of which was for Reiki training. This amount is almost twice what came in the previous month, and more than twice what came in, in January. Wow.

I have claimed that this year is the year Caring Palms shows a profit, even if it is just a few dollars. With all that is going on in our lives right now, I hope it turns out to be more.

Because of expenses in January (specifically the trip to take Lomi training), at the end of February, the company was $2,500 in the red on the year. Right now, it is only $180 in the red. That’s quite a change. Now, that figure will go up and down with every bill that comes in and every session that I do. The key will be to keep more coming in rather than going out.

It is a very weird, yet nice situation when I look at my checking account and see $2,700 there before paying the rent. I’m holding onto as much of that as possible as I know I will have some $600 in licensing expenses before the end of August.

Right now, I’m on the right track, and hoping I stay that way.
