I would think that I’d be used to spirits popping in, and the means they use to get my attention, but I guess I’m really not.  Here’s one that did something a bit unusual.

I have had this lighted fountain/misting unit in the back of my treatment room.  For the last couple of months, it has been totally dead, and I haven’t wanted to spend the money to fix it.  the light has not worked, nor has it created the water vapor mist that makes it look so nice.  Well, today it came alive.

As I was working, the fountain flashed on for a moment and then went off.  Then it came back on again and ran for a few seconds.  It kept doing this to my complete puzzlement.  I mentioned this to my client and he said that he wondered who was here.  He obviously felt that some spirit had come through to say hello.

I of course had thought it was simply something in the electronics of the unit that had suddenly gone back into place.  Once my client mentioned that it was a spirit, I opened myself up to whatever might be there.  I immediately felt a familiar presence, and knew it was my mother.

Suddenly, there was another presence there.  I asked for a name and was told ‘Bill’.  I simply dismissed this as my father’s name is Bill, and he is still on this side.  I asked again and heard ‘Joseph’.

I then asked my client if that name meant any sense to him, and he said that he thought that his grandfather who died shortly after he had been born was Joseph.  I immediately got a confirmation that it was his grandfather.

I asked for validation and saw a picture of a 1940s type of car, a Buick to be precise.  It had Kansas license plates on it.  Unfortunately, this made no sense to my client as he had been way too young to remember any of this.

I could not get anything else so I couldn’t really validate what we both felt was his grandfather.  I did get a message though.

‘Joseph’ wanted to let my client know that he watches over him (which is something most spirits say).  He also wanted me to pass on that he knew about my client’s thinking about moving to Texas (yeah, I’m losing another client).  He knew my client was really thinking about it, and that my client was very concerned and unsure.  (My client had told me that he was probably moving in the next few months.  He would be retiring from his government job and working at his brother’s company, which he has been doing a lot for recently.  He never led on that he had doubts or was unsure about anything.  The way he stated it, it seemed like a done deal and that he was looking forward to it.)

‘Joseph’ wanted my client to know that everything would be ok.  He wanted him to know that this was his path and it would take him where he needed to be.  He told him not to worry, and to be sure that he was making the right decision.

Then ‘Joseph’ left.  The fountain went out, dead again.

I know that spirits are energy, and they can manipulate energy in this world (placing thoughts in your mind, affecting your emotions, rerouting electricity), but I just never thought to connect it this way.  It was my client saying that it meant some spirit was here that made me even think about it.  Now, if he felt the spirit, he never said so.  And I also feel that he could not have received this message even though he is very spiritual.

The lesson here?  I guess it’s to be open more and not wait for a slap in the face to realize someone wants to talk to me.
