We’ve all at some time heard someone say “Please God, give me strength.”  Someone made a comment about this the other day that I found quite interesting.

Now for the purpose of simplicity, I’ll continue using ‘God’, and let you fill in whatever works for you.

From time to time we might feel the need for more strength, and ask God for strength.  Well somebody made a comment that made a lot of sense.  And it went like this…

You see when we ask for strength, we get situations to test us, to build strength.  These situations would be some type of hardship that forces us to be strong to make it through.  Once we are through, we are stronger.

So, the suggestion was that instead of asking for strength, we ask for joy.  That way, God would give us situations to make us joyful.  Neat idea huh?

So from now on it’s “Please God, give me joy.”
