We had an interesting mediumship class last night.  We did readings with paint chips.

Yes, that’s correct, paint chips.  Our teacher had stopped at Home Depot on the way to class, and picked up paint sample cards.  She managed to get a good variety of each shade.  For instance, the red went from dark red to pink to brown.

There were only two of us there, so it was rather easy to work, and there was plenty of time for each of us.  Marilyn set out a group of colors based on shade (reds, blues, etc.).  She had us choose a color we liked and one we didn’t.  First we told why we liked or disliked the colors.  Then we had to tell what these colors told us.

Let’s say I picked a bright, full, blue.  What does it say?  Is it calming?  Is it strong?  Is it weak?  How we saw each color could tell us something just in that alone, and each of us interpreted each color differently.  But now if someone asked about their relationship, and the color was strong, well then we could tell them that their relationship was strong.

After we went through several of these, Marilyn had us pull six colors.  Once my classmate pulled six colors, she handed them to me.  My task was to tell her about herself based on the colors she pulled, and talk for 15 minutes.

I set them out and scanned them.  Suddenly, I was drawn to one color.  I looked at it, and went through the things we had talked about earlier.  Marilyn pushed me here and there, but I was lead by spirit to other colors and to other things.  Suddenly experiences I had were coming through.  By the time I had finished, I had talked for almost 20 minutes.  My fellow classmate told me that I had really nailed it.  Wow.  I wasn’t really sure on anything.

When she did it for me, she set the cards down in patterns.  It was really interesting to watch her work with this.  When she was done, she had placed me very well.

Now I wasn’t very comfortable with this method.  The information came, but I was really pulling at it.  My fellow classmate seemed to be extremely comfortable with it, a natural almost.  The reason we’re shown things like this is because it makes us work, and we find what methods work best for us.  It also tells us certain things.  For instance, if I do a reading, and see a particular color, then I know how I should approach it, and by knowing that makes it all more possible that spirit could communicate with me in that form.

Either way, it was a very interesting thing to learn.
