Today, I did some work on a friend that I have not seen in some five years. The results were more than I could have expected.

Now, I don’t know why we fell apart, I just know we did. A couple months back, she started e-mailing again, and since then, we have been talking quite a bit. She has suffered from Fibromyalgia for what seems like forever. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disease that comes and goes, but never goes away. When my friend gets it, she hurts so bad that it is painful to even cover herself with a sheet.

Until today, I never knew the progression that it took. It starts in her arms. They start hurting until it is difficult at best to move them. Then it starts in her thighs and spreads throughout her legs making it painful to walk (if she can). John Barnes, who created the best version of Myofascial Release (MFR), says that Fibromyalgia is nothing more than constricted fascia (constricted connective tissue). His key is to find the pain, then look for the source elsewhere.

Now, many people who suffer from Fibromyalgia tend to do better with massage and exercise. Of course, stress has a lot to do with things too. Just like those that suffer from restless leg syndrome, the more stress going on, the more likely an attack will happen and be more serious.

Going in armed with a good deal of knowledge, I looked at my friend (with my eyes open this time), and looked at her physical alignment. As expected, ahs was not aligned properly (just like most people). Another thing that she told me was that she had had several surgeries. Scar tissue is usually a big cause of many problems like Fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, or RSD. It causes constricted fascia which can apply itself on nerves and cause many of these types of problems. So, along with everything else I was looking at doing, I added scar release (also a part of MFR) to the list.

I started working, applying holds in places I knew she needed. Before long, she started feeling things in places other than the ones I was working in. This was her body telling me where to go next. I started following where she led me.

Finally, I started looking at her scars. Now, she had four scars. One was in her naval form one thing they did. Another was a bikini line scar across her stomach where they had some in to deal with a cyst. The other two were where she had a hernia operation when she was 11.

I worked with the naval first, moving, finding pain points, and getting rid of the triggers there. Next, I moved to the bikini line one. I found a few places that had a reaction that I ‘fixed’. Then I moved to the hernia scars. Now, these were in a very private area that had she not been such a close friend, I might not have worked on. (In the past when I have done scar release on people, I have found that the scars that cause the most problems are in the most private areas. I have done similar work in the past even before I knew MFR. I worked an energy scar release at a Reiki conference in May of 2003. Although the posts talk more about the conference, the May 24, 2003 and May 25, 2003 talk about this.)

I worked on the scar on my friend’s right side probing for pain areas and working them out when I found them. I then moved to the scar on her left side. As I hit it, she felt pain radiate throughout her body. This confirmed to me that this one scar is the cause of her Fibromyalgia. After all these years, we finally found what has been causing her pain.

I worked that scar for quite a while removing trigger where I found them. I doubt that I got them all as this has been there for almost 30 years. When I finished there, I moved on to a few other things, and then wrapped it all up. Up until the last move, she had been suffering a good deal of pain even while I was working on her. When I finished the last move, all her pain was gone. Wow.

So, after two hours of working on her. She was completely without pain for the first time in a long time. I hope it holds.
