After yesterday’s class, I did a massage on the wife of one of my clients.

After the session, and he had come back to get her (and she was feeling much better), and left, I noticed that she had left her necklace on the table in the treatment room. I immediately picked up the phone and called them.

When he came by to pick it up, he made a comment I had certainly not expected. He said he was very pleased that I was honest enough to call to return it. He said most people would not have done that. What? Wow.

I’m not sure how to take that. I mean, yes, I am basically honest, and in thinking about it in hindsight, had I kept it, they probably would have remembered that this was where they left it. But that line of thinking never came into mind. I just automatically called after finding it as it was not mine and I wanted to return it to its owner.

I guess what bothers me the most is his comment that most people would not do that. Either he is right and most people today would think twice about returning it, or he simply has a very poor opinion of people. That is scary too.

Dunno. Like I said, it was second nature to just pick up the phone and call. Like it couldn’t have been simpler.
