Now, I know I have had classes that formed really strangely, but today's has to be in the top two. This class literally pulled together in the eleventh hour.

One of my students had a friend that was looking for continuing education. She suggested taking my Reiki classes, but she could not get into the class I was holding last Saturday. We talked and set a date (today) for a Reiki 1 class. I told her how to get into the system and where to sign up (after I created the class and changed the website, something I can only do from my computer at home).

When I talked with my friend again, I told her that I was hoping to get more so I wouldn't have to teach to just one student. She then told her boss who needed four or five hours of continuing education. She signed up that night.

When the Saturday class took pace, I was missing two students that had signed up for the class. One changed to the September class. Te other had been in the hospital the two days previously and was not strong enough to drive to that class. So, I added her to today's roster. That gave me two signed up.

When yesterday rolled around, I still had not seen the original person that wanted to take the class signed up. (Sales for my Reiki classes automatically end around midnight two days before the class date. So sales for today's Wednesday class ended at midnight on Monday.)

I got a hold of my friend who had her friend call me. She told me that she had signed up for the class. I had no one on the list, nor had I gotten email saying she had signed up. When I asked, she told me she had not gotten email confirmation either. Somehow, she must have cancelled it before the process completed. So, I had her sign up again while I sat there on the phone with her. This time, it worked.

So I had three people with sales closed, so I wasn't going to get a fourth to even it out. (Just as in massage classes, Reiki 1 uses paired partner practice, so it is best to have an even number.) I called several people to see if they were available, but no one was. I could have been the body for the second table, but the person working on me would have had to overcome the stigma of working on the teacher, and I would not have been able to watch what was happening at the other table as well as I would have liked to.

This morning, I was getting ready, wondering how I was going to work the class, when the phone rang. It was someone I knew who has helped me before as a body when I had one student when I had my night job, and who has taken a couple mediumship classes. Sometime during the night, she remembered she needed continuing education credits, and decided she should take Reiki. She asked, "Is there any way I can get into your Reiki class today, or are you filled up?" I smiled, thanked whatever spirits were involved and told her I would see her in a couple of hours.

This group was absolutely wonderful. They asked good questions, and did the practices well.

So, this class flew together at the last second, but worked out. I guess that is called trusting the universe to deliver.

And one last thing... The lady that too the class today instead of Saturday... Something had steered her to Reiki after many years of hearing about it. To her, it was eye opening and wonderful. She said it was a great gift and was glad that she got into this class. And the best part? It was her birthday.
