I had a new client in today that came for a Reiki session. He had been through a lot of abuse in his life, and that was taking its toll mentally and energetically.

As with all cases of abuse that happens when one is young (and I don’t know any details), it can cause issues in later life. These issues commonly cause low self esteem and self respect, fear at various situations, and unwarranted actions when encountering things. My client was going through a lot of stuff which was making it hard for him to be calm and controlled.

He had read about Reiki and some of the things it could do for someone. That brought him to me.

As I worked, he pulled in a tremendous amount of energy. (The amount of energy passed is based on the clarity of the practitioner and the need of the subject.) At the midway point when I had finished working on the front of the body, I asked him to turn over. For a couple minutes he could not. He told me later that he felt paralyzed. He could not get his body to move. This is something I had never seen before.

I waited it out, and finally he was able to turn over. When I finished on the other side, it was very similar. He had to lie there quite a while before he was able to move.

My client told me that it felt like he had been run over by a truck, but it was a good feeling. At the end of it all, he said he felt much lighter. That is a term I have been hearing a lot lately when I do energy work on people, no matter what type. They feel much lighter. So, it is a good thing.
