I was in a Massage/Reiki session at 5:45 today. I still had the 'Open' sign lit and the front door open. A lady walks in and starts wandering through the place yelling "Hello. Is anyone here?”

I interrupted my session and went out "There was no one at the front desk." Well, I was in session as the sign on my treatment room door said (which I am sure she did not bother to notice). She says, "I'm looking at getting massage weekly and was wondering if you have any special deals.” I should have cringed at this point, but I showed her my package pricing flyer. "How much is it for a massage?" I told her $70 per hour. She handed me back the flyer, "Well! I can get it for $40!" and left.

Wow. I thought, “That's fine. Go back to Massage Envy.”

How I hate rude people. Now, I could have told her that she would get better quality here, or she would get 60 minutes of massage instead of 50 minutes (the standard spa massage) that the other places do. I just feel that the way most franchises push people in and out, they can’t get the quality and care as they can at Caring Palms. In truth, most franchises do the same thing as the big name spas, a spa massage, five minutes of “hi, how are you?”, 50 minutes of massage, and five minutes of “Ok, you’re done. Get out of the way for the next person.” I take the time to go over a client’s problems before putting them on the table and schedule 30 minutes between session just for that. I also see what they are looking for and educate them if need be.

But there are those that just go for the price. Price is important, but it can’t be the only thing one considers. One has to balance price with quality and find the balance that meets their needs best.

But rude stupid peopleā€¦ please stay away. I would prefer intelligent people who understand what I can do for them and want that very thing, not someone who complains that I am not the bargain basement price.

So, rude lady, have a nice day.
