I had a client came in today that is a retired physician. He is also dying from stage 4 cancer (and I can’t remember what part of the body is affected).

He had exhausted everything medically that he possibly could. There is only one thing left, and he knows it will not save his life. He decided not to go through that treatment as he didn’t want to spend his last months in a drug stupor.

To that end, he was investigating every other option he could find. First off, his mental attitude was amazing. He wasn’t depressed, he was determined. And we all know that mental attitude makes a difference on how we are and how we cope with whatever we have to. Basically, he was feeling pretty good about himself.

He told me that he read somewhere that there is more oxygen in the morning, which is why birds sing in the morning. Now, do I truly believe that? No. But in following this, he has been getting up early and watching the sun come up every morning. And he feels great about it.

Now, isn’t half of all healing the willingness to believe, or feel good about things? I mean, we go back to the placebo effect where believing that this piece of candy can relieve pain and make you feel better, actually does. What we do mentally is 90% of the battle between feeling good and not.

He seemed really surprised when I told him this. All he had been getting were the doom and gloom the doctors were pushing on him. He had been told he was crazy for believing such stuff. The point I made was that by believing that we can feel better makes us feel better. That we have some say over how we approach things, and that can have a huge impact physically.

After his Reiki session, he was feeling really good. I hope he comes back.
