Several years ago, Shirley and I moved from our home in
Maryland to Jacksonville, Florida because of company relocation. We
found life here to be a little different than the fast paced environment
we were used to, being just 30 minutes outside of Baltimore. Down
here, people just seem to take their time about things, letting them go on
for days, weeks, months.
This is especially true for labor intensive companies, like home building. All home companies here promise to put up a house in four months, just like everywhere else. Unfortunately, the average time to build a house here is seven months. Like I said, things happen at their own pace.

Bubbaville
By
Brian and Shirley Dean
Got relocated, down south of Georgia, Into
a city just off the shore. Folks
are so laid back, drive trucks with gun racks, It's
just a big red-neck type of bore. Wasting away again, down in Bubbaville. Searching
for some sign of conscious thought. Most
folks here say that they have half a brain, But
if so, it's not used a lot. Watching the wind blow, seeing the grass grow, Looking
out for the gators and snakes. It's
worth your life here, to cross the back yard, What
I just stepped on was not my rake! Wasting away again, down in Bubbaville. Searching
for some sign of conscious thought. Most
folks here say that they have half a brain, But
if so, it's not used a lot. Don't know the reason, there's no change in seasons. It's
just like summer all the year round. Life's
just a beach here, until the next monsoon, Hopefully
soon I'll be northerly bound. Wasting away again, down in Bubbaville. Searching
for some sign of conscious thought. Most
folks here say that they have half a brain, But
if so, it's not used a lot Most folks here say that they have half a brain, But I know, it's not used a lot |
