Silver Shells

This is another Christmas song gone wrong.  It was something that came up during our first Christmas in Florida.  The seasons are definitely different here.

To the tune of

Silver Bells

Silver Shells

by Brian and Shirley Dean

Christmas makes you feel emotional.

It may bring parties or thoughts devotional.

Whatever happens, or what may be,

Here is what Christmas time means to me.

City sidewalks and the boardwalks,

Dressed in tropical gear.

In the sea spray's a feeling of Christmas.

People laughing, waves a-crashing,

Seagulls flying quite near.

And on every beach corner you see…

Silver shells, silver shells,

Its Christmas time in the tropics.

See them gleam, just like a dream,

Soon it will be Christmas day.

Strings of seagulls, even beach balls,

Have a bright sunny shine.

As the people walk by at the beaches.

Hear the sand crunch, see the kids bunch,

Taste the salty sea brine.

And around all this bustle you see…

Silver shells, silver shells,

Its Christmas time in the tropics.

See them gleam, just like a dream,

Soon it will be Christmas day.
