System Crash

I was having trouble with my computer one evening when suddenly this idea popped into my head.  I was writing a song, and was having trouble saving it.  The last thing I wanted to do was lose what I had done.

The save finally worked, but an idea was born.  By the way, you must understand that as Greg Baker used to say 'A filker with a word processor is a dangerous thing.'

System Crash

By Brian Dean

I hear the disk drive squeakin'

I think trouble's on the way,

It looks like the system is a crashin',

I wonder if my data will be saved?

Don't turn off the thing,

you'll blow your token ring,

There's a system crash in sight.

Don't pull out the plug,

You'll never find the bug,

You might not save a single byte.

I see the cursor has stopped blinkin'

I feel the end is awful near,

Now it's grinding up my floppies,

How much do I have to fear?

It's time to call the tech,

cause I'm a total wreck,

There's a systems crash in sight,

I won't yank out the plug,

cause I want to find that bug,

I might not save a single byte.

The tech said the RAM is overflowing

and the hard drive's turned to rust.

I guess I should go and count my pennies,

Looks like Computerland or bust.

Go turn off the thing,

Its blown my Token Ring.

The system has crash has kept me up all night,

Go pull out the plug,

I've lost that doggone bug,

as well as every single byte.
