No Poem

2007

This year, we broke the tradition and did not come up with anything.

T’was the night before Christmas, the year’d been a bust
Most of our dreams had been crumbled to dust.
The wife was laid off, my company in the red,
It makes one just want to crawl back into bed.

Each year we create a new holiday story,
And send it to you in all of its glory.
But this year, I’m afraid, the tradition's been broke.
We’re not sending cards to all of you folk.

Creativity has left us, and stamps cost too much,
And so goes life, or some semblance of such.
But next year will be better, we’ll get back in the groove
I’m expecting things to definitely improve.

So a holiday tradition gets stopped at thirteen,
Only a psychic could this have foreseen.
But next year we’ll continue, and send cards once more,
Which will hopefully entertain, and not totally bore.
