Star Trek: The REAL Captain
and his costumer
This was Captain Daniel C. Roper, then commander of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise, CVN 65. The uniform was made as part of Operation Trek Rec Deck, creating a recreation area on the aircraft carrier and supplying it with Star Trek memorabilia. His costumer is wearing a costume designed and created for Lightyears. Captain Roper wore this outfit throughout the convention after it was presented to him.
It is understood that the Monday after being presented with this, the captain went to a regularly scheduled staff meeting wearing this uniform instead of his Navy issued uniform.
