This costume was initially designed to be a throw-away costume in the Doctor Who routine, but was decided to be too good, and was used in competition where it took second place in its category. The queen’s staff, as well as those of the guards were lighted, and the routine was begun in darkness.
This was the Queen’s second outfit. It was used in “The Rescue of Queen Sh Tur Nan 2” where H’vran Lon Rhee had to come to the queen’s aid when she was kidnapped by her enemy “Arch Nemisis”
The Royal Guards were (as many costumes) created as something else first. The armor on the chest, arms, and legs were created using egg-crate foam which was dyed the desired color. (Unfortunately, the foam worked well for presentation, but was too hot to wear through the halls of the hotel.)

Since we created a throw away costume that was too good to throw away, we presented it here.
When most people spend time making costumes, they show them to death. Taking from the previous presentation, we decided to show this costume a second time (something we hardly ever did). We got the expected, “Yes, it’s nice, but we’ve seen it before” from the audience. That’s when we threw them the curve.
Here we decided to come up with new costumes for the characters we created.
